#AniTwitWatches Round 7: Rolling Girls 11 – 12

Previous eps.

Episode 11

  • Imagine if a shonen hero’s mother defeated the villain! (That would suck…)
  • I’ve always thought Princess Kaguya-inspired characters were prettier than the others, even in series like Lilpri where the characters are all meant to look generically cute.
  • In the end, this anime was a discussion about adopted families.
  • …and so the fight was stopped…by a dog. Good job, people. (partially sarcastic)
  • The umbrella seems to be based on a mangosteen, not a peach.
  • I like how Momiyama is like, “You have the wrong person,” as he basically admits she’s right.
  • I was confused about “stonefish” until they showed the spaceship…it’s shaped like a stonefish.
  • I can’t help but wonder if the pink eyes of Ootomo are due to the rabbit on the moon. It’s like albinism, y’know?
  • …and of course Shima has a mech, because this is anime. Scott, are you happy now? It’s basically catered to you.

Episode 12

  • Of all the things I noticed during that crash scene…it was a cloud shaped like a fish during the few seconds of aftermath. Why, brain? Why must you do this to me?!
Believe me now?
  • Is Momiji Island that one with the torii? Update: Yes.
  • The plural of Japanese words doesn’t take an S, so it would technially be “evil Takumi” (plural).
  • Wasn’t the licence already torn? Also, where did that purple jacket of Shigyo’s spawn from?
  • Get (the coat of arms) in the robot!
  • W-Wait! Kishou Ootomo is…Chiaya’s dad?! Gahhhhhhh! (Let’s just say my taste in 2D boys has led me astray once again and leave it at that.)
  • Momiyama used Headbutt! It’s super effective! (Also, it gave someone their memories back, which is a nice bonus.)
  • The Tanashi Tower also exists.
  • “…even if we have to do a rush job…” (or alternatively “rush the job”…?)
  • Matcha Green keychain, Yukippe’s drawing and…what’s that red leaf (momiji) wrapping paper? That must be from Ai.
  • Hey, the “run after the train (or whatever transport) as it departs” thing is a cliché, isn’t it? They did the same thing in the Boueibu OVA.
  • Wait…if that was the professor, then…shouldn’t he be going back with Haruka and Chi? (Haruka can mean “far away”, come to think of it.)
  • Oh, so Chi traveled to the past…somehow…and then stuck herself into the child!Nozomi, Yukina and Ai’s memories.
  • Why do I get the feeling the ship is going to malfunction and they’ll have to do this stuff all over again…?
  • Behind the guy who is singing with his guitar, it says “Hito ni Yasashiku” (the name of the OP). There also appear to be two magical girls on the side there and an “urgently hiring” ad, too.
  • Ah, that’s why they’re Rolling Girls!
  • What are these gold numbers that appear? There was a 2 during ep. 11 and now there’s a 3, so where’s 1…?
  • I think I checked up the Chorio drink at the start of this watch, too, but it doesn’t exist…
  • The cork board says “memory corner”.

  1. Oh, so Chi traveled to the past…somehow…and then stuck herself into the child!Nozomi, Yukina and Ai’s memories.

Close, she knew their childhood names because that actually happened. She didn’t go to the past.

What are these gold numbers that appear? There was a 2 during ep. 11 and now there’s a 3, so where’s 1…?

Ai was told to work on becoming a 2 (she started out as a 1). Her whole story is about how their are no shortcuts to achieving your dreams. You have to put in the work and have the passion to gain what you want, which in her case, that’s strength.

    Thanks for joining in 🙂
